We Wanna Be Pirates

Phil transformed a vacuum box into a pirate ship. And he doesn't think he is creative?

Ahoy!

Luke's current obsession is pirates. Specifically Captain Hook and Smee. He lays in bed late at night worrying about whether Smee is good or bad?

Micah just goes with the flow.

Micah is a lost boy. We call him "Cubby." Incidentally, he looks just like Disneys' version of Cubby.

Umm, nice pants Phil?

And now a shot of what our living room looks like after a day of play.

So I thought, "We'll make something fun and then throw it away." And now it is a permanent fixture in the living room. Go figure. Use it up wear it out right? Even trash.

He is having fun!

And then I realize: this is not a box it's a REAL pirate ship!

Its still true.......give a child a box and he plays with it forever! Using your imagination is the best part of fun!!
Phil was even more creative than me with our box made into a boat/kayak!!

These are the fun times of raising children!

I just love this! We used to have the most fun EVER playing in boxes. This is when parents have that "ah ha" moment realizing that plain 'ole boxes are the key to contented children(and adults)! What adds even more to the whole scenario is the "EUREKA!" printed on the end of the box!

It is fun that it says "Eureka"
