Easy Doughnut Recipe
This is not the most healthful recipe ever...I am sure that if you made the dough yourself etc. but then it becomes labor intensive.
This way is totally easy!
Ingredients:
oil for deep frying
2 cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (I used the Kroger brand whole wheat biscuits)
Heat oil in a deep fryer of heavy saucepan to 375 degrees.
Separate each biscuit and cut a hole in the center (I used a small cookie cutter) Drop biscuits and holes into the hot oil for 1 - 1 1/2 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
Dip top of each doughnut into desired glaze. Serve warm.
Vanilla Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2-3 teaspoons milk
Chocolate glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 T. unsweetened cocoa
1 T. melted butter
2-3 t. milk
Citrus Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 t. grated lemon or orange peel
2-3 t. lemon or orange juice
Please make these...I beg you!
